Amelie; Genre- Romantic Comedy

Amelie is a French film, from 2001. The drama in the film opening gradually peaks.The story shown in the film opening's of a girl developing from being conceived to her early childhood. It starts with a pregnanted women to which Amelia is born.Then the tension subtly increase as Amelia is shown growing up. You see clips of her doing things such as blowing paper and eating raspberry's off her fingers in a childish manner. The opening is started to a quiet non-diegetic sound of calming music then an overlaps of a voice of a French man, then as it progresses many different diegetic sounds are introduced over the top of subtle music, to build tension. E.g. loud baby cries. However the tension and drama maintains slightly low as happy clips are shown to calm music. Warm Neutral colours have been used, creating a calm romantic feel through the film opening relating to the genre of romance. A lot of editing of clips have been shown, with different camera angles and colour tones.Halloween: Genre- Horror
Halloween' was created in 1978. It opens with Pumpkins with and children dressed up spooky showing the audience the opening's set on Halloween night, which creates suspense of spookiness and a horror suggesting genre. The opening clip shows a mysterious character walking into the house. Tension is built as the screen goes dark (almost black), then jumps to The character walking upstairs. Clips of the stairs are shown to build tension. The screen them goes dark again to continue building the tension, then suddenly jumps to a stabbing, to darkness, to a laddie lying dead on the floor, to darkness. Suspense is created as the opening is continuously filmed from the killers point of view,
so tension and a sense of mystery is built as you don't know who it is till the end, were the killer is revealed. The use of clips of darkness in-between scenes, with added loud diegetic sounds in the background helps build up tension, and make the audience question/fear what's going to happen next. The diegetic sounds peak at the beginning of the opening were loud strings are played, this then dolls down, and the peaks again at very fast pace at the crucial moment of the stabling. More sounds are added over this throughout, for-example, footsteps, talking etc. This helps built up suspension and for the audience to relate the creepy music to the genre horror.
The film opening to train spotting included lots of different clips merged together, for example men playing football in the next scene, smoking. The opening shows a man falling to the floor, and the name 'Tommy' appearing on the screen. Which instantly indicates drama, showing the audience the genre. Along side the non-diegetic background music, the Clips are put with diegetic sound, for-example, men cheering. The filming opening has used a range of camera angles to increase the look of drama. The opening starts fairly loud, and then quietens, with a loud ending, which grabs the audiences attention and helps build up an atmosphere. Legally Blonde: Genre- Romantic comedy

The film introduction, screams that legally blonde has a feminine target audience. There is a obvious constant theme of pink throughout to attract attention, and make it look like a fun up-lifting film. The song "perfect day" is a non-diegetic sound played throughout to help build up a girlish feel to the film. Diegetic sounds are added throughout to build up drama/atmosphere, for example, girls running around giggling, and boys cheering. The film opening consist of lots of different clips adding suspense to build up of when 'Elle' is revealed. To do this they added lots of different clip with a card addressed 'Elle'. This makes the audience suspect that 'Elle' plays an important role in the movie. The director has used very stereotypical perfect girls in the clips, most being blonde. The opening has a Colour
palette consisting of pinks, nudes, and pastel colours, to add to the girlish theme.
